Panorama Nor-Am – Day 2

It was a long day at Panorama with three Super-G races, two for the men and one for the ladies. The Men were up on the hill early to make up for yesterday’s race that was delayed due to fog. The first race went well for the Canadians placing 6 skiers from the national team in the top 8. Alberta Ski Team Alum and Canadian Team Athlete Jeff Read claimed top spot for his second Nor-Am win of the season. Jeff was joined on the podium by teammate Sam Mulligan in second and American River Radamus placing third. Liam Wallace was the top Alberta Ski Team Athlete placing 40th on the day.

In the Ladies race American FIS newcomer AJ Hurt won her second Nor-Am of the season taking the Super-G by a second over Canadian Stef Fleckenstein. American Keely Cashman captured her first Nor-Am podium of the year coming in at third. Claire Timmermann and Zoe Belczyk were the top Alberta Ski Team athletes landing in 18th and 19th respectively.

In the Men’s Second Super-G it was the Americans turn with the top 4 spots being taken by US team athletes. River Radamus took top sport with teammates George Steffey and Sam Morse taking second and third. Jamie Casselman of the Alberta Ski Team tied Wallace’s result for the morning coming in at 40th in the second race.

The men will run a slalom tomorrow morning that will be added to the second Super-G for the Alpine Combined followed by a full GS race.
